We just got back from Annapurna Base Camp and we’re still not over it

So we just wrapped up our Annapurna Base Camp trek via Ghorepani and Poon Hill and honestly we’re still processing it. There’s something about this particular route that hits differently every single time.
This time we went with a group from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and India. Complete strangers on day one. By day three they were sharing snacks, swapping blisters stories, and looking out for each other on the steep bits. That’s just what the trail does to people.

Why we add Ghorepani and Poon Hill to this trek

A lot of groups skip this section to save time. We never do. Yes it adds days. Yes your legs will feel it. But waking up at 4am, climbing to Poon Hill in the dark with headlamps, and then watching the sun slowly light up the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges in front of you that is not something you skip. A few of our clients stood there completely silent for a good few minutes. One of them told us later it was the most beautiful thing they’d ever seen in their life. We believe it.

The trail itself

It’s not easy. We want to be honest about that. There are long days, steep climbs, cold nights, and the altitude hits you more than you expect around Deurali. But every teahouse stop, every bowl of dal bhat, every time the clouds parted and showed us what was waiting ahead  it all made sense.
Our Singapore group was seriously impressive. Didn’t complain once. The Malaysia crew kept the mood light the whole way absolute characters. Hong Kong trekkers were quiet and focused and just kept moving, which honestly is the best strategy. And our India group brought so much warmth and energy to every evening at the teahouse. Really special mix of people.

We’re not going to oversell this because it sells itself. You walk into the sanctuary and the mountains just surround you completely. Annapurna I right there. Machapuchare right there. Hiunchuli. All of it. 4,130 metres and nowhere else on earth quite like it.
Someone pulled out a flag. Then everyone pulled out flags. Then there were tears and group hugs and a guide tried to hold it together and failed. It was a good day.

Bookings are open for Sept–Dec 2026

Autumn is the best season for this trek the skies are clear, the views are unreal, and the whole trail just comes alive. October especially goes fast so don’t wait too long.
We handle everything  permits, accommodation, guides, meals on trail, the lot. You just need to get yourself to Kathmandu and we take it from there.
