The journey
The trek involves hiking through the route to the Annapurna range surpassing various rural Himalayan beautiful rhododendron forests, rivers, terrains, and villages. During this journey, we will encounter various life-death deciding scary incidents. Our journey leads us to explore the Mardi Himal Base Camp which is at an elevation of 4500 meters from sea level.
The journey lasts eight days at maximum allowing one to have enough time to steal the charms of the Himalayas. This magical journey of the hike begins in the beautiful village of Kande after the bus ride from Pokhara. The magical journey is worth all the effort and scarifies done to reach the Mardi Himal Base Camp.
Which is the best season for you?
Annapurna Himalayan range remains open in all four seasons. However, the months from March to May and October to November are the most preferred months by trekkers. Even in winter, professional trekkers attempt to trek around this route against the freezing temperature of the Annapurna region.
How difficult is Mardi Himal Trekking?

Where is Mardi Himal?
Mardi Himal Trek is located at the Latitude: 28.4667° N and Longitude: 83.9667° E on the north side of Pokhara in the Annapurna region. One can reach the Mardi Himal hiking through the village of Kande or Phere which is 20 kilometers north of Pokhara. The Mardi Himal Trek takes us to the Mardi Himal base camp where one can witness the panoramic landscapes of towering Machhapuchhre and Mardi Himal.
Itinerary of Mardi Himal Trek
01
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu; Tribhuwan International Airport
We will welcome you in the arrival section in the TIA and transfer you to your respective hotels. After having a meal as per your choice, you will be taken to explore various Pashupatinath temples along with Swayambhunath.
On the same day, you will prepare all the required stuff for the trek to Mardi Himal Trek. You may have shopping for some warm jackets in the local shops in the Kathmandu valley.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara
In the early morning, our guide will pick you up at your hotel and accompany you to the bus to catch early morning, comfortable tourist bus to pokhara. By crossing indescribable alluring green hills and rivers. Enjoying the beautiful aerial view of the Nepalese mountains you will reach pokhara.
Pokhara is also quoted as ‘Hongkong in the lap of Himalayas. We will visit the tourist places like Mahendra Cave, Devi’s fall, SetiKholaFewalake, and many other destinations for the day.

Day 3: Drive to Phedi and Hike to Pothana
We will take a bus ride from Pokhara to Phedivillage which is the starting point of the hike. Phedi village is naturally decorated with uncountable natural entities with Himalayan cultures and humble nature.
After reaching Phedi, we will hike for 5 kilometers along the Himalayan surface taking 3-4 hours of casual walking. One can witness the wide view of LamjungHimal, Annapurna range, and Manaslu peak through the village of Dhampus.
Dhampus village offers a Himalayan Gurung community and cultural practices. Pothana village is the ending spot where we will be staying in a local homestay.

Day 4: Trek to Forest Camp
We will ascend a few steps through the subtropical forest with a spectacular view of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. This extremely beautiful forest is the homeland of various extinct birds and animals. You may notice much wildlife grazing on the field while passing through the forest.
The hike will last more than five hours of continuous walking. The beautiful scenery will make you forget yourself in the alluring form of nature. The ultimate spot for the day; Forest Camp is elevated at an altitude of 2554 m. We will spend our night in the local guest house.

Day 5: Forest Camp to High Camp
High camp is situated at an altitude of 3980 m comprising beautiful rhododendron forest and little natural vegetation. For this day we will hike more than 1000 m taking almost 6.5 kilometers taking the time of 4 hours of casual hiking through the Himalayan surface.
After we finally reach the top of the hill, we get rewarded with magical views of the Annapurna range and MachhapuchreHimal. We will rest for the day reaching the High camp where we will be resting for the day.

Day 6: Trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp
Mardi Himal Base Camp stands tall at an elevation of 4350 m on the lap of MachhapuchreHimal in the Annapurna range. This part of the trek is quite challenging compared to the previous days. We will hike above the rocky trail.
After hiking for 3-4 hours and covering a distance of 5 Km, we finally reach our dream destination. We will witness the magical and spiritual energy flowing between us after we reach the Mardi Himal Base Camp.
We will spend about 2-4 hours in the base camp and return to the high camp to stay the night.

Day 7: Hike to Siding Village
It’s time to follow the trail to low camp through the Mardi Khola. Cleaning all our sins in the Mardi Kholariver, we walk through the bank of the river until we reach the village of Siding. Siding village is known for its culture and hospitable people.
It is said that previously this village used to offer a free tourist lodging system. You will generally see the people of Gurung, Lama, Tamang, and Sherpa communities in this village. We will be staying the night after a long day hike.

Day 8: Hike to Saidighatta and drive to Pokhara
Today is the last day of the hike. We will travel by bus from Saidhighatta and gradually from the flight to Kathmandu. Taking the joy of walking around the hilly surface for the last time we finally reach the village of Saidighatta where we will see a bus or a Sumo jeep waiting for us at Lumre. After 1 hour of successful bus travel, finally, it’s time to have some rest.

Day 9: Drive back to Kathmandu
The ninth day of the journey involves a direct bus from Pokhara to Kathmandu. You will go back by following the same path and also enjoying the spectacular view of green hills, houses, and rivers introducing the real geographical criticalness of the country Nepal.

Day 10: Fly Back to your home country
We will thank you for your time in Nepal with a token of love. We will have a farewell lunch before leaving for the airport. We will be there to wish you in the departure section of Tribhuwan International Airport.
