In this tour the helicopter takes off from Kathmandu and leads you east of the capital towards Nagarkot. You will witness green forest and closer view of snowcapped peaks along the way. These peaks include Jugal Himal, Langtang range, Gaurishankar, and various other peaks as you approach Jiri.
At Lukla, we will stop for 15-20minutes for some technical analysis and to refuel the helicopter. During this break you get to explore your first taste of the mountain air and scenery from Lukla.
Lukla is the gateway to Everest base camp. The Tenzing Hillary airport is named after the legendary mountaineer, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa who were the first to successfully summit Everest. Lukla is beautiful small Himalayan Town. After taking some break soon , we will take off from Lukla and enter the territory of the Sagarmatha National Park.
On the way we will explore green hill,mountains and we will see some suspension bridge after that we reach Namche Bazaar. Namche is the center of attraction because of its territory and it’s the place from where we can view the glimpse of Everest for the very first time.
During your helicopter ride, Mount Ama Dablam will likely be the most noticeable, among a number of other peaks like Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, and Kwangde peaks at this point. We will fly over the Everest Base Camp crossing the Khumbu glacier and Camp II and will land at Kalapathar. You’ll have panaromic view form here . Unlike the base camp where Everest hides behind the Lhotse Nuptse ridge, Kala Patthar sports a 360-degree panorama of the region including Everest. With favorable weather, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam, Khumbutse, Changtse, and Pumori among others.
After leaving from the KalaPathar, our next stop is Syangboche. The Everest View Hotel near Syangboche offers a delicious breakfast at almost 4,000m.
After having a delicious breakfast at such a high altitude and taking a rest and enjoying view for 30-60 minute we will start our return journey . With heavy heart we will Say farewell to the Everest Region as you take off from Lukla and enjoy the final flight and spectacular views over the Himalayas. In just less than an hour; we will be back in Kathmandu and the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour will be successfully completed.
