Gosainkunda Lake exactly lies at coordinates of Longitude: 28.0675° N, and latitude: 85.3600° E. This holy spot is the origin of the Trisuliriver. Gosaikunda is the destination for a pilgrim that carries huge importance in Hindu mythology.

Goshaikunda has Religious importance
According to Hindu mythology, Gosaikundais considered a pilgrimage site created by Lord Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident. It is said that during the time of SamundraManthan (Cleaning the Sea for obtaining Nectar), the poison gets arises and tends to cover the universe and kill all the living organisms to save nature, Lord Shiva drank all the poison and kept it in his throat to save the universe.
To reduce the effect, lord shiva drank the water from Gosaikunda. So, this pure cultural site is considered an important part of Hinduism.
It is said that taking a dip in holy Gosaikunda cleans all the sins of your seven lives. On various occasions like Janaipurnima, huge devotee visits Gosaikunda to perform puja and worship the lake.
Not only in Hinduism but in Buddhism also this particular lake is believed to be the abode of the deity, Chenrezig who is also known as the Bodhisattva of compassion. Overall, Gosainkundais considered a sacred site and pilgrimage destination for both Hindus and Buddhists in Nepal, and it holds great religious and cultural significance.

This place lies in the territory of Langtang National park which is the home of thousands of varieties of living creatures including Himalayan mountain bears, Musk deer, Snow leopards, Red pandas including the flora and fauna like rhododendron, orchids, magnolia, and thousands of botanical species.
One can witness LangtangLirung (7246m), Gangchhenpo (6388m), Dokpu peak (5930m), NayaKangri (5846m), Yala Peak (5500m), Ganesh Himal, Mt Manaslu (8,153 m) and many others.
Itinerary of Gosaikunda Trek
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Welcome to the land of heaven, Nepal. We will welcome you with a bookie at the arrival section at Tribhuwan International Airport. You will be departed to your respective hotel in our private car.
After having lunch our staff will guide you to the PashupatinathTemple which is one of the biggest religious sites according to Hindu mythology.
On the same day, you will prepare yourself for the trek to Gosaikunda. You may have to shop for some warm clothes as the temperature of Gosaikunda is near freezing point.
Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche
Early morning, we will take a bus ride from the capital city to Dhunche. The journey will take 6 hours of blissful ride covering more than 120 Kilometers. In the first instance, you will be amazed by the green hilly forests and routes.
Enjoying the beautiful creation of nature, you will reach Dhunche which is the ultimate spot for the day.
You will be enjoying the panoramic views of the Langtang Himalayan range including LangtangLiru, DorjeLakpa, and Ganesh Himal. Dhunche offers the majestic picturization of greenery landscapes with wider views of whitish peaks.
Day 3: Hike from Dhunche to Chandan Bari
Early in the morning, from Dhunche after the first glimpse of the sun, we head our journey towards Chandan Bari. Today is a busy day for the hike as we will be ascending for more than 600 meters from Dursagang to FoprangDanda.
Enjoying the live view of Ganesh Himal, LangtangLirung, and Tibetan Mountain, you will be ascending toward the destination of the day.
The distance between Dhunche and Chandanbari, also known as Syabrubesi, is approximately 18 kilometers (11 miles) by road.
Chandanbari is the gateway to the Langtang National Park and the starting point for many treks in the Langtang region, including the Langtang Valley trek and the Tamang Heritage Trail.
Day 4: Trek to Gosaikunda
The fourth day of your journey will be the most exciting as you will be reaching the ultimate Gosaikundalake hiking about 6-7 hours walking above the greenery trails.
You will be ascending about more than 800 meters covering a distance of 22 kilometers reaching an altitude of 4360 m. On the way to Gosaikunda, you will be enjoying the landscapes of CholangPati and Lauribinayak.
Gosaikunda is a holy place containing all the positive spiritual energy allowing one to dive into the pure water in the lake.
Before reaching the Gosaikundalake we will be going through the two holy lakes Saraswatikunda and BhairabaKunda which has special importance in Hinduism. Lord shiva broke a glacier into a lake to quench his thirst to cool the poison he swallowed to save the universe.
After having quality time in Gosaikunda we will hike back to Lauribinayek where we will be staying the night.
Day 5: Hike down to Dhunche
Early in the morning after having a meal, we will descend the hill to reach the ultimate destination for the day Dhunche.
Today we need to descend more than 1500 meters covering 16 kilometers on the Himalayan surface. The hike back to Dhunche lasts more than 6 hours. We will reach Dhunche and rest for the day in a local guest house.
Day 6: Drive to Kathmandu
It’s time to say bye to Dhunche as we will be driving back to Kathmandu. Driving about 8 hours from Dhunche we reach Kathmandu covering 120 kilometers.
You will be witnessing the spectacular views of green hills from the bus on the way to the capital city.
After reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel in our private car where you can have enough rest for the day.
Day 7: Site-seeing Kathmandu Valley
Today is the last day before we wrap up your journey to Nepal. You can have traditional street food or do any activities exploring the valley. You can also have some cheap but quality shopping in the local stores here in the valley.
Day 8: Fly to your home country
We will thank you with a token of love from the departure section of Tribhuwan International Airport. Before your departure, as per your choice, we can have a group farewell dinner where you can taste Newari food items.

Essential Information - Gosaikunda Trek
Trek to Gosaikunda is hard?
The trails leading to Gosaikunda are casual Himalayan routes counted as medium-level difficulty. The route up to Chandan Bari is simple and easy however ascending through Gosaikuna from Chandan Bari is quite difficult as you need to climb up above 4300 m with a tired body.
However, a normal man-woman aged 15 to 50 can trek through these routes heading to Gosaikunda.
Best season
Gosaikunda during the Winter season
The temperature of Gosaikunda gets harsh during winter months dropping below the freezing point. During these days, the Gosaikundalake gets frozen creating a beautiful Stark landscape.
However, the vision remains foggy during these days so no helicopter service is available during September and October. The Himalayan wind flowing in this region makes the thing complicated to survive. It is very difficult to access the area due to the heavy snowfall. Overall, winter is a challenging season to trek the Gosaikundalake.
Gosaikunda during the Spring season
Spring season is a season where we will be witnessing red rhododendron all around the routes. Different Himalayan flowers in these regions add charm to the trekkers during March, April, and May. Rain may be an obstacle some times, otherwise, the trails remain clear and visible.
The weather typically remains milder and more comfortable with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 15°C during the daytime. However, the temperature of night drops down to the freezing point at some intervals.
Gosaikunda during Autumn seasons.
The months of October and November are suitable for trekking to Gosaikunda. The sun remains throughout the day, which will be a perfect condition to lose yourself in the heaven of Gosaikunda. During these two months, the temperature remains balanced with clear vision.
Gosaikunda during Monsoon seasons
The months of June, July, and August are not the ideal time for trekking to Gosaikunda. Mainly during these months, rainfall occurs, leading the trails too slippery. Avalanche landslide often occurs on the Himalayan surface, which is a very dangerous site for trekking during these months.
