Dhaulagiri is the seventh highest mountain in the world at 8,167 metres above sea level, and the highest mountain within the borders of a single country. It was first climbed on 13 May 1960 by a Swiss-Austrian-Nepali expedition. Annapurna I is 34 km east of Dhaulagiri
Itinerary of Dhaulagiri Trek
Day 1:- Welcome to Kathmandu
Our team will welcome you at Tribhuwan International Airport on the very first day. You will check in the hotels and explore the Kathmandu valley with our guide staff. On the same day, you will get a chance to visit the historical and religious sites. As Kathmandu is called the City of Temples, you will find a temple after every three houses. The fantastic thing about the capital city is there are seven UNESCO World Heritage sites
Day 2:- Shopping and preparation for the Trek:
On the second day in Nepal, You will explore the Nepali cultural sites and experience some Nepali foods. Later half, you will shop for the required clothes and materials and make yourself prepare for the Trek. You will also prepare all the documentation permits for the Dhaulagiri trek on this day.
Day 3: Kathmandu to Beni
After having our morning breakfast, we will leave for Pokhara early in the morning we will drive to Pokhara on a very comfy tourist bus (but l please also let us know if you wish for some private transport) and then onwards to Beni (9hours drive) in total. Benito where we will stay overnight and we will prepare for our next day trip.
Day 4: Beni to Babiachaur
After having our night in Beni we will proceed our way by following through Myagdi Khola (river) and gradually we will pass through several small villages, across suspension bridges, and through terraced fields. we will Explore local life and surrounding before reaching Babiachaur.
Day 5: Babiachaur to Dharapani
After having breakfast early in the morning in Babiachaur we will leave early in the morning now we will get to witness more small villages and their cultivated fields. Dharapani is another beautiful village surrounded by fields
Day 6: Dharapani to Muri
After spending one night in Dharapani, we will leave for Muri on the way we will explore many villages.Muri is a village inhabited by Magar people. On the way across the river again and ascend through forests to reach a ridge above. we will cross many river and another bit of climb will bring us to the ridge where Muri is situated.
Day 7: Muri to Boghara
After spending a night in Muri. We will proceed Today we will witness great views of Mt Ghustung South. The t zigzag trail goes through pine and oak forests, and gradually takes you to Boghara. From here, lying above the terraced fields, you can see two mountains Dhaulagiri and Gurja Himal
Day 8: Boghara to Dobang
From here the altitude is beginning to rise today but we are still below the tree line you can still see cultivated fields . After walking for 5-6 hour we will reach Dobang and Overnight in Dobang.
Day 9: Dobang to Choriban Khola
After Dobang early in the we will proceed today again we will hike through forests and along with Myagdi Khola until we reach the banks of the Choriban Khola where we camp for the night.
Day 10: Choriban Khola to Italian Base Camp
Today we will witness beautiful glaciers ,We hike along the glacier of Chhonbarban Glacier From Italian Camp, there are spectacular views of the Dhaulagiri Massif and Tukuchen
Day 11: Acclimatization Day at Italian Base camp
we take an acclimatization day today as altitude is rising up so in order to allow our bodies to adjust that altitude. Today we will explore our surroundings and take some Good rest.
Day12:Italian Base Camp to Glacier Camp
Today is quite challenging day as we will steep ups and downs and a rocky trail. There are glaciers to cover and narrow canyons to pass but we reach Glacier camp.
Day13:Glacier Camp to Dhaulagiri Base Camp
The most awaited day filled with many peaks such as Dhaulagiri I and II. The campsite may be an open rocky area but We fix our camp here under the wonderful peaks.
Day14:Acclimatization Day at Dhaulagiri Base camp
whenever we move to high altitude places we have to give time to our body to adust so, we will Accliamtize. It’s a fantastic place to take some rest and click some stunning photographs.
Day 15:Dhaulagiri Base Camp to Hidden Valley via French Pass
oday we reach the highest point of our hike on this trek. The French Pass is 5,200m high and puts the challenge in the day. But the rewards are an panorama of mountains such as Tukuche Peak, Tashi Kang and Dhaulagiri I, to name just a few. Decending over the pass we reach a grassy land where we camp for the night in the Hidden Valley.
Day 16:Hidden Valley to Yak Kharka via Dhampus Pass
Descending drom the Hidden Valley (situated at 5,200m) we head towards Dhampus Pass. The views from this pass are impressive – lakes ,glaciers ,Mountain will make our day
Day 17:Yak Kharka to Marpha
Today we will feel at ease for being in ower altitude and enjoy the greenery of forests of pines and rhododendrons as we hike towards the town of Marpha, famous for monastery and apple orchards. we will spend our night over there
Day 18:Marpha to pokhara
Our trek has ended and we drive back to Pokhara today to enjoy the lakeside restaurants and bars and perhaps be overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of a busy town .
Day 19:Pokhara to Kathmandu (Drive)
Today we say goodbye to the Fishtail Mountain which towers over Pokhara and to the wonderful Himalayas mountains that have been our home for the past 2 weeks or so. Then it’s time to say goodbye to your wonderful staff as the comfortable tourist bus gets you back to Kathmandu in time to head off to a lively restaurant for dinner and perhaps some music.
Day 20:Back to your home country
As per your ticketing schedule, the 20th day is the day of departure back to your home country. If you are well impressed by the beauty and want to extend your visa period to explore different amazing treks and places, you may do that even on the last day
