No matter which season you choose, trekking in Nepal is unforgettable—filled with majestic peaks, warm-hearted locals, and trails that stay with you long after you return home.
The Himalayas have a way of testing a person—not just their physical strength, but their spirit, patience, and determination. This season, we are incredibly proud to share the inspiring story of two of our clients who turned their dreams into reality by successfully summiting Lobuche Peak and Mera Peak with Khumbu Excursion.
A Journey That Started With a Dream
Every expedition begins long before the first step is taken. For our two climbers, the dream of standing high above the world started months ago. They prepared, trained, asked questions, and imagined the moment when they would finally step onto the summit.
When they arrived in Nepal, excitement mixed with nervousness. The mountains have that effect — they humble us. But with the guidance of our experienced Khumbu Excursion team, the journey slowly transformed from imagination into experience.
Mera Peak: The First Triumph
Mera Peak (6,476 m) is known for its breathtaking panorama — one where five 8,000m giants stand proudly on the horizon. The ascent is long and steady, challenging enough to push every climber, but rewarding in ways words can barely capture.
Mera Peak
Our team began the climb under a clear sky, moving gradually through the high-altitude landscapes. The final push to the summit was cold, quiet, and powerful. And then, just as dawn began to break, they reached the top.
Their smiles said everything. The Himalayas opened up before them — Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Kangchenjunga glowing in the morning light. It was a moment they will remember for a lifetime.
Lobuche Peak: A Second Victory
Mera Peak
With confidence and courage strengthened by the Mera Peak success, the climbers set their sights on Lobuche Peak (6,119 m). This climb is more technical, demanding focus, teamwork, and trust.
From Lobuche High Camp, the route rises sharply. The cold bites harder, the wind speaks louder, and the true spirit of mountaineering begins. Step by step, rope by rope, and breath by breath, they made their way upward alongside our expert guides.
When they finally stood on the summit, the feeling was indescribable. Below them stretched the Khumbu Valley, and beyond, the Everest range stood tall—silent witnesses to their victory.
A Celebration of Courage and Teamwork
These successful summits are not just achievements of height; they are achievements of heart. They reflect:
The courage of the climbers
The expertise and dedication of Khumbu Excursion’s Sherpa guides
The spirit of adventure that lives in everyone who comes to the Himalayas
Our entire team — including lead guide Mingma D sherpa and Pema Gelu Sherpa, our support crew, and the many hands behind the scenes — is honored to have been part of this journey.
Looking Ahead
Every season, Khumbu Excursion continues to help adventurers from around the world discover their place in the mountains. Whether it’s trekking, peak climbing, or expedition-level ascents, we believe every journey should feel personal, safe, and unforgettable.
To our two climbers — congratulations once again. Your determination inspires us, and your story now becomes part of the Khumbu Excursion legacy.
Here’s to many more summits and many more dreams fulfilled.
The acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar plays a crucial role for trekkers. It gives the body time to slowly adjust to the higher altitude, reducing the risk of altitude sickness before heading further up into the Himalayas. Trekkers usually follow a “high and sleep low” approach—taking gentle hikes to higher spots like the Everest View Hotel or Syangboche Airport during the day, then returning to Namche to sleep at a lower altitude. This day isn’t just about rest; it’s also a chance to explore the local culture, stay well-hydrated, and keep an eye on your health. All of this helps your body prepare for the more challenging parts of the Everest Base Camp trek ahead

Guess What? Khumbu Excursion Just Won a Big Award!
Khumbu Excursion
Okay, we’re honestly blown away right now — Khumbu Excursion just got the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for 2025! That means we’re in the top 10% of travel experiences worldwide. Seriously — we’re still trying to take it in.
What makes this award special is that it’s not chosen by some panel in a boardroom. It’s based on real people — travelers who’ve hiked with us, shared stories over tea, and left reviews full of love (and sometimes muddy boots ).
Over the last year, we’ve guided people through some unforgettable places — the Everest Base Camp trail, the peaceful Gokyo Lakes, and tiny Sherpa villages tucked into the mountains. Every trek is personal to us, and we do our best to make sure you feel that too.
Here’s what we think helped us earn this award:
We know the trails because we live here
We keep our groups small and the vibes genuine
We care about the environment and the people
So if you’re planning a trip to Nepal in 2025, come join us. Whether you’re chasing a sunrise view or just want to slow down and breathe in the mountain air — we’d love to be part of your journey.
